CLAIRE CHALLEN

Arriving in Smithers from the U.K., Claire’s connection to Hudson Bay Mountain began at age two. While she first preferred cabin lounging and exploring the trees around the Prairie T-bar, she eventually found her stride in competitive ski racing with the Smithers Ski Club. That path led her to race internationally and build a diverse ski career, coaching, action modelling, writing, and working in media. She has appeared on magazine covers, global ad campaigns, and as a host for Ski TV, with her Ski Fit programs published both in print and online. Despite travelling the world, Hudson Bay Mountain remains her favourite place to return to.

Claire offers Claire’s Ski Camps at Hudson Bay Mountain and further afield. She is a Rossignol athlete.

“Hudson Bay Mountain has always been somewhere I can go to find peace. I don’t have to look far to find a quiet spot, where it’s just me and the mountain. When the snow falls, it’s light and dry, and you’ll find pockets of fresh powder for days after a snowstorm. HBM has retained it’s unpretentious charm throughout the years and I’m grateful this is where my love of the mountains began.”

TOSH KRAUSKOPF

Tosh Krauskopf, 21 years old, was born and raised in Smithers BC. When he’s not jet setting around the globe in search of that perfect terrain park he bases out of Whistler BC for the winters where he trains for slopestyle, slays POW laps with his Shmobb crew and hits the gym. Tosh is truly the Swiss Army Knife of snowboarding or as some may call him, an ATV. He’s not just a park rat. Tosh is a shredder on the sled and loves to drop cliffs, straight line chutes and rail pow slashes. How did Tosh get so good on a snowboard you may ask? It all started when his dad strapped him into his first snowboard at the age of 2. This passion for snowboarding was fostered by riding with friends and family on Hudson Bay Mountain in Smithers, BC, where the line ups are short and the pow is deep. If you want to see what he’s up to at any given time he keeps his Instagram regularly updated. Check it out: tosh.krauskopf. Tosh is sponsored by: Hudson Bay Mountain, Nitro Snowboards,  1910, 100% Goggles, Airhole, Local Supply Company
